HEART UK

HEART UK is the nation’s cholesterol charityHEART UK is the nation’s cholesterol charity. We're passionate about preventing premature deaths caused by high cholesterol, one of the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

Six out of ten adults in the UK have raised cholesterol. 1 in 500 people are born with an inherited high cholesterol condition called Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH). The majority of people with FH remain undiagnosed and untreated. If untreated, they are at high risk of a heart attack, stroke or sudden death in their 20s, 30s and 40s. HEART UK is lobbying for change to improve the detection of FH in families.

The HEART UK helpline is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm – telephone 08454 505 988 and a website full of information.
