International Nurses Day 2021: Celebrating talkhealth's expert nurses

May 12 is International Nurses Day. On the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, the International Council of Nurses leads the medical community in thanking nurses across the world for their individual and collective dedication to keeping the healthcare system running.

This year, the theme is ‘Nurses: A Voice to Lead - A vision for future healthcare’. As nurses around the globe continue to battle the Covid-19 crisis, today’s events encourage everyone to cherish this difficult time as a period of learning and growth for global healthcare.

At talkhealth, we pride ourselves on our long-standing relationships with nurses. From providing expert knowledge about treatment administration to emotional support and advice to our members, the nurses we work with are invaluable to our community.

Every single one of the nurses that sits on the talkhealth expert panel is dedicated to giving the utmost care within each of their ever-evolving and innovative specialisms. That’s why, this International Nurses Day, we want to highlight just a few of the nurses that continue to do amazing work on our platform:

Susan Daly, MS and Bladder Specialist Nurse

After practising as a registered nurse for 11 years, Susan began working with people living with multiple sclerosis. She took a special interest in helping those with MS with their bladder and bowel issues as she was acutely aware of the physical, mental and social impact of these problems. Susan is trained in teaching Intermittent Self Catheterisation (ISC) to people with MS and implementing this sustainably into their lifestyles. talkhealth members will have a chance to learn from Susan in Coloplast's upcoming online event on MS and ISC on Tuesday 18 May at 17:00. In this digital event, Susan will be sharing how MS affects the bladder, the importance of managing your bladder and the benefits of using ISC. Click on this sign-up link to attend the event and ask any questions you might have!
