Urinary tract infections
Hi, I seem to have permanent bladder infections, without symptoms, so no treatment advised by doctors!? Last year my incontinence was really serious and had an emergency operation for peri-urtheral abbsess which cured worst of symptoms but still bit leaky but can get through night. Have Ankolosing spondylitis with totally fused spine, neck, hips, ribs, pelvis......

Hi BluebirdAnthony
I'm sorry to hear the problems you've been having. Your ankylosing spondylitis and any medications you're taking for this can have an effect on your bladder function, as well as the surgery you've previously had.
I tend to agree that if you have urine infections on your urine tests, but have no symptoms, then they don't always require treatment, as repeated courses of antibiotics can also cause other side-effects and problems with bacterial resistance.
Are you seeing a Urologist? I think that in your particular situation you should have your symptoms assessed by a specialist to try to work out the underlying cause of your symptoms and the best treatment options for you.
Good luck!
