Dog and cat allergies

My son suffers from asthma, eczema and allergies. The dog and cat allergies tend to provoke his eczema more than anything else. His food allergies can become apparent within 36 hours of ingesting, and can stay with him for up to a week. I am not sure about the dog and cat allergies though as I gave heard varying times from from between a week and three months. Are there any other guidelines which may offer clearer advice as at the moment, although we know the allergy exists, it is difficult to determine the extent without understanding the timeframes.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Dog and cat allergies

Hi allymom

If the dog and cat allergy is tending to flare his eczema the vast majority will flare within 48 hours. Though if he lives with these pets then his eczema would be chronically flared. Wheezing and hives will be much more acute and would manifest within a few hours.
