Pet Allergy
My Son has food allergies and asthma. He has very high ige levels.
Since he got older his asthma has improved and he has grown out of some of his food allergies.
18 months ago we got a small dog, non shedding, after about 6 months he started getting more coughs and colds and is now wheezing at night.
We are in two minds about re-homing the dog?? He did have asthma on and off before the dog and the pollution in London at the moment is very bad.
What if we give the dog away and the wheezing continues?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Re: Pet Allergy
he should be tested for dog allergy. Decision re re-homing can be made once you know the result
His symptoms might be due to dog allergy but they can also represent non allergic asthma.

I agree that your son needs an allergy review. If he has food allergies and asthma with a possible allergic component he needs a full allergy review to see whether he has outgrown the food allergies, to test for dog allergy and to review his asthma medications. It is possible to be allergic to "non-shedding" dogs. I would ask your GP for a referral. I wouldn't rehouse the dog until you've had him tested.
