Re: Effective Scar Creams

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I had a serious car accident and very nearly had to have my arm amputated, I broke all my fingers, my radius and ulna, degloved my arm, I've had skin grafts and whilst I can't thank my team of consultants, the loss of tissue, muscle and scaring is very prominent. My consultants are discussing a fatty tissue graft, but this won't help with the scaring. I have scars to both my legs, front and back thigh areas as these were the donor sites for my skin grafts, can anyone recommend anything to help with the scaring on these areas. Thanks in advance.

Re: Effective Scar Creams

A number of treatments are available if you have a scar that's painful, itchy or unsightly, or if it restricts your movement.

Clean the wound
Apply a bandage
Massage your scar
Protect it from the sun
Chemical peels.
Collagen injections.
Compression therapy.
Corticosteroid injections.
