Stroke without treatment

Hello,

I have kind of bizarre question.

What could happen if stroke was left without any medical treatment at all, in a young patient.

Besides leading to some mental impairment.

Would there be some possibility of dead brain tissue causing infection?

Also would it make any sense to go to the neurologist months after stroke?
Without any prior medical action.

Thanks for your time in advance.

Re: Stroke without treatment

Hi Joedoeoue,

Thank you for posting your question on the forum. Hopefully another member can advise you, but sadly, we are unable to give out specific medical advice. I think this is a question for a medical professional and would urge you to seek out an opinion from a GP who can refer the person in question onto a neurologist if needs be.

Please find some NHS info on strokes:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stroke/

Kind regards

Whenever the health problem occurs it should be addressed quickly and not left to linger.
