Psoriasis???
Hi, i am new to the forum, but am currently at my wits end with a rash that i have had for about 5 years now and i am hoping that the people on here may be able to help.
I have the rash in the attatched photo all year round, but come the warmer months it just erupts into an red, itchy mass that covers my whole upper torso. I do a manual job so sweating makes it worse. I have seen my GP on numerous occasions and have tried numerous treatments including citirizide antihistimine, oilatum gel, e45, canestan cream, nizoral shampoo, flucloxacillin, flucanazole for bacterial. Last time i was prescribed Itraconazole tablets and a steroid cream to treat it if it was fungal. The rash improved for two weeks but then came back worse than ever, so i was sent to a specialist. The dermatologist didnt seam interested, took less than 5mins and said it's Psoriasis and that there is no cure, just keep using the moisturising creams!
So i was wandering if anyone on the forum could offer advice as to how to manage this rash, and if anyone has any thoughts on whether the rash looks like Psoriasis.
I appreciate that there isn't a quick magical fix, but dont want to go through another summer constantly scratching and then laying in cold baths after work to try and alleviate the skin.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this!
Chris.

Re: Psoriasis???
Hello Smudger79 and thank you for posting in the forum.
The rash does indeed look angry and very itchy. It's difficult from a photo to say exactly what it could be as there are so many different types of skin conditions. Plus at talkhealth we are unable to provide any diagnosis.
You should go back to your doctors' surgery and find out if there is a GP or nurse with a special interest in dermatology and ask to see him/her. A specialist may be able to offer you more help and guidance.
Let us know how you get on.
Best wishes
