T4 raised BP T3 lowers BP (which choice of med)

Perhaps this online clinic could explain the reason for T4 raising ones BP and the harm it has on ones kidneys and heart which clearly worsens the more T4 you are presribed.
Comparing this with the effects of T3 lowering ones BP but still safe, which is clearly less harmful to ones kidneys and heart what would your choice of medication be.

Re: T4 raised BP T3 lowers BP (which choice of med)

I am not sure where your information comes from. There have been a numbers of trails comparing T4 versus T3+T4 in hypothyroidism and no differences were found in BP. Untreated hypothyroidism is associated with high blood pressure and a decline in kidney function. These effects reverse with thyroid hormone treatment. High thyroid hormone levels (hyperthyroidism) are associated with a higher than normal systolic BP and lower diastolic BP. Again this returns to the levels before the onset of hyperthyroidism, when treated.

if one takes excessive amounts of T4 or T3 to cause hyperthyroidism then there will be an effect on BP. Excess T3 / T4 can be harmful to the heart and bones and the best way to reduce the chance of heart and bone problems is to treat with levothyroxine and aim for a serum TSH in the normal reference range.
