Use of biologics in EI

I know of a couple of children (outside of the UK) who have been treated sucessfully with biologics and was wondering if these would become available for children in the UK also?

Re: Use of biologics in EI

The use of biologics in severe types of congenital ichthyosis (Netherton syndrome) has been trialled in the USA. The use of biologics is not available (licensed) in the UK and there are no ongoing trials.
Further studies are required and clinicians in larger centres looking after individuals with congenital ichthyosis would be best to advise you about upcoming trials and if anything is available on compassionate basis. Please do stay in touch with the ichthyosis support group who will keep you updated about new treatment developments.
