Intermittent sleeper

Generally I go to bed and go to sleep quickly. However after a few hours I wake and then can't get back to sleep. I've read that bananas are good for aiding sleep - is this the case and if so how far before going to sleep should you eat one?

Thank you, Hayley

Re: Intermittent sleeper

Hi,

Bananas are an excellent source of magnesium and potassium which help relax overstressed muscles and can be ideal go-to snack before bed. They also contain all-important tryptophan to stimulate production of those key brain calming hormones.

While bananas are a good sleepy food - there are also many others - they may not solve your problem! You might want to look at completing a sleep diary and trying to identify what is happening through the day and in the evening.
