Acne on my chin
Hi, so recently I’ve been breaking out really bad only on my chin. The rest of my face is close to clear except my chin. I always had the most acne in my chin area and I never knew why. I started using Paulas BHA liquid exfoliant for a few weeks, the one with salicylic acid but my chin acne only got worse ): Please send any feedback on what acne I have and what I could do to cure it. Before the breakout, I only had these whiteheads I think they’re are, but the same three whiteheads have been on my chin since as long as I can remember and they never seem to go away.

Hello
Acne can be very frustrating to deal with and sometimes seems no easy way to calm it down or to stop a flare up. We do have a lot of information on our website both from dermatologists and also our members but appreciate it can be hard to find exactly what you are looking for - but do use the search function. Suggest you look at our online expert clinics to see what our experts say about acne and also look out for our clinics we run in conjunction with the British Skin Foundation and look to post a question when we have the next one on acne.

For my acne I’ve only used Dermalmd Acne Treatment Serum 4 days and my pimples are gone! I just need to get rid of my acne scars now. I’ve tried everything for my hormonal acne, even murad! Nothing has helped me so far but dermalmd! Please don’t change the formula!

Dermalmd sounds like a skin product worth trying. I am by no means an expert, but it sounds like your best shot.

They are ordinarily the aftereffect of vacillations in chemicals. This is especially the situation for females and young people, as both will more often than not experience outrageous chemical vacillations. Androgens are the chemicals liable for invigorating the production of sebum

Hey! I totally get how frustrating chin breakouts can be. Since chin acne is often hormonal, it can be super stubborn. Something that’s really helped calm my skin is the Beauty of Joseon - Calming Serum with green tea and panthenol. It’s super soothing, reduces redness, and is great for calming irritated skin. You might find it helps balance things out without being too harsh!
Hope this helps!

It sounds like you might have hormonal acne, which often appears on the chin. If the whiteheads are persistent and not improving with your current routine, it’s best to consult with a dermatologist. They can help identify the cause of the acne and recommend the most effective treatment for your skin.

Re: Acne on my chin
Chin breakouts are super common and often linked to hormonal fluctuations, especially if they’re persistent and deep (like cystic spots or recurring whiteheads). The fact that the same ones have been hanging around for ages suggests they might be clogged pores or even sebaceous filaments rather than typical acne.
While Paula’s Choice BHA works wonders for some, for others it can cause purging or irritation — especially if your skin barrier isn’t happy.
Here are a few gentle tips:
Ease up on actives like salicylic acid if you're seeing more breakouts.
Try benzoyl peroxide spot treatments or azelaic acid for inflammation.
Don’t forget to moisturise, even if you're breaking out — a dry barrier = more breakouts.
And yes, it’s worth checking in with a derm to rule out things like fungal acne or hormonal imbalances.
If you’re ready for more targeted care, this acne treatment could help clear things faster with professional support. You're definitely not alone in this — chin acne is stubborn, but it can be managed.
