UTI'S

I SUFFER FROM REGULAR INFECTIONS AND HAVE BEEN TAKING VARIOUS DAILY ANTIBIOTICS PRESCRIBED BY MY DOCTOR TO CONTROL THEM. THE PROBLEM BEING IS THEY CAUSE DIARROHEA AND I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT WITH LESS HARSH SIDE EFFECTS.

Re: UTI'S

Yes there are a number of non-antibiotic alternatives with vary levels of efficacy and supporting evidence. Examples include methenamine Hippurate, D-mannose, cranberry supplements, vaginal oestrogen etc etc. There are a few good summary articles out there - perhaps the best is by Sihra et al in Nature Reviews. Urology 2018, 15 (12): 750-776.
