Preventative

If you have been told you will suffer from Arthritis in the future are there any preventative methods you can take?

Re: Preventative

Exercise helps to keep joints (specifically the hyaline cartilage) nourished and lubricated, it also helps to strengthen and stretch the structures around the joints, both of which help to protect joints. You might like to ask your GP to refer you to physiotherapy for an assessment. Your physiotherapist can assess your posture, relative strengths and weaknesses and any biomechanical issues which may affect your joints. He/she can then prescribe specific exercises, tailored to your individual needs, which can help protect your joints.
