Psoriasis help

I have psoriasis on my scalp ,face and parts of my body. I have had it since the age of 9 years old when it came up all over my body. I am now 45 years old I have joint issues since I was 19. I have few questions to ask.
1, I have painful swollen part of skinon the Base of my skull which is size of 50 pence which however my psoriasis is , so we there I have nasty plaque psoriasis there or not it's constantly sore. It has been infected twice, even with treatment it's still sore just not as red after anti biotics. What do you think it is? Do you ythijk a referal to a demetologist would be useful?

2, I have had joint issues since 19 and now need a walking stick due to degenation of of my sacrum, I suffer other signs of a of psoriasis arthritis and immune issues too. Do you think it'd worth discussing psoriasis arthritis with my Gp?

3 what treatment do you suggest as treatment option for my face mainly as it's gets very sore an painful and trying not to use steroid cream. What treatment options what you suggest for this and my scalp?

Re: Psoriasis help

I'm not a dermatologist but a psychologist with a special interest in dermatology and I think from what you've said you would benefit from getting a full assessment from a dermatologist following having a consultation with your GP. There is lots on information available on the Psoriasis Associations website (https://www.psoriasis-association.org.uk/) and the Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Association (PAPAA - https://www.papaa.org/) website. It can be helpful to talk about the impact of your condition as well as getting an upto date medical assessment. If there are issues for you with pain and or emotional impacts, specific psychological support may also be useful to consider.
