Kidney or Bladder
I have to catheterise at night in order to empty my bladder before I go to bed. My GP advised me not to drink after 7pm which I strictly adhere to. After catheterising I wear an absorbant pad as recently I have found that despite my nightime routine I am still leaking during the night. If I should nod off during the day I inevitably wake up damp as it appears as soon as I relax my problems begin. Are there any further things I can put in place to prevent this?

Re: Kidney or Bladder
It sounds like your bladder is overactive - during periods where your conscious level drops - eg overnight/afternoon sleep this is resulting in urinary leakage - there are medications that may be able to help with that. I'm not sure what level of investigation you have had and whether you have undergone urodynamics but before that you could try one of the anticholinergic drugs as long as there are no contraindications in your particular case.

I think that you should seek further medical advice and undergo further treatment with drug therapy and assessment. If necessart if matters do not setle progress onto filling out a freqyency volume chart and urodynamics. It may also be necessary to catheterise more often but please seek medical or specialist nursing advice
