prolapsed disc

Hi and thanks for letting me join the forums. I had a prolapsed disc about a year ago and really want to get back into my running but my left leg is slightly weak and worried that I could damage my back further. Would really like some advice on the type of exercise that would be good for me. I have a pair of adidas Cloudfoam Groove running trainers so hopefully these will help in case I run on hard ground, even better for running on soft surfaces like grass ect. Any advice on this would be great. Thank you

Re: prolapsed disc

Some exercises can help improve the symptoms of a herniated disc. A physical therapist can teach you which ones strengthen the muscles that support your back.

Stretching a muscle to the full extent of your ability and holding it for 15 to 30 seconds is what's called a static stretch, and there's no harm in stretching that way as long you don't stretch until it hurts.
