Bowel Question

I’ve had lifelong bowel problems (constipation, incomplete movements, slow digestive transit, reflux, indigestion, constant revolting taste in mouth etc) and specialists assumed it was caused by my hypermobility syndrome.

After finally having an MRI last year, it showed significantly malrotated bowels, which probably explains most or all of my digestive issues. Any tips for dealing with it? I’ve tried normacol, movicol, lactulose, fibogel and prucalopride, none of which work. The symptoms I most want to deal with are constipation and revolting taste in mouth (I’ve had tests for Hpylori and it’s not caused by dental or ENT issues).

You would probably benefit from trans anal irrigation to help manage the constipation. Your GP can refer you to your local Continence Service who will be able to teach you how to do it at home.
