Ovary

I had a hysterectomy 30 years ago, the ovaries were left in. Last year I had a prolapse repair done and then in December an autogous fascia sling. Since August last year I have been having left sided pain, sometimes quite severe, that comes in waves. I had a pelvic ultra sound done in November which showed the left ovary is attached to the bowel. I do suffer from diverticula disease, and I am wondering if this can be causing my problems. Is there anything that can be done to relieve this?

Re: Ovary

The pain could well be due to the diverticulitis and the ovary could have become stuck due to previous surgery or inflammation. I would have the bowel investigated first, and if surgery to the ovary is also required then perhaps a joint approach between the gynaecologist and the bowel surgeon would help.
