Re: Hay fever Injections?
Hi Alexm Immunotherapy (hay fever injections) are very efficacious in the right people. the have long lasting effects beyond the three years of treatment. There is lots of published data out there that your allergist can go through with you. However if you are only on Fexofenadine the first thing th...

Re: Hay fever
Hi hockeymum It sounds as if you need to ramp up your treatment - eye drops such as opatanol might be helpful and there is astrong improvement in eye symptoms if you also treat the nose, so a nose spray would be useful as well. your GP can start you off, and if you are still having problems when ful...

Hi Jennywren
Have you been to see an allergist for a full work up and review of your allergies? They might be able to take a wider view and link the different foods you are reacting to, and then offer you some dietetic input.

Re: Psoriasis

A...

Hi Fran
Most of the doctors reviewing these posts are allergists, so I am not sure we will be much help for wider cures for IBS, but you can ask you GP for advice about that.

Re: Citric and citrus acid
Hi Pj
It would depend if it happens reproducibly for example, or if she has eczematous skin that was being very irritated by contact with the acids in the citrus fruit.
So my answer is a bit on the fence - it may or may not be an allergy depending on the circumstances.

Re: Delayed reaction allergies
Hi Lara Allergy testing is the same if it is done privately or on the NHS: Blood (specific IgE or components) or skin prick tests for immediate reactions Trial removal and inclusion for delayed reactions Patch testing for contact reactions So any NHS allergy clinic would offer appropriate testing. I...

Re: Child with multiple allergies, eczema and urticaria
It sounds very difficult at the moment. The Edinburgh team may need to refer her on for another opinion - there are people who do specialise in different areas, maybe the Edinburgh team needs to speak to someone who can help them move forward with your daughter.

Re: Child with multiple allergies, eczema and urticaria
Dear vrichmond It can be all consuming managing a child with multiple allergies. With such severe restrictions your child needs expert input: a specialist dietitian and a joint dermatology/allergy clinic or a paediatric allergist might be good so that your daughter can be looked at holistically. I'm...

Dear kmmac1990
Immediate type reactions encompass anything from seconds to 60 minutes. Therefore I would definitely have a discussion with your GP about what was in the afternoon snack.
Best wishes
