Re: Enlarged prostate plus overactive bladder

I would agree with what Jon has said but add that with your mixed picture of both bladder storage and bladder emptying symptoms that the next step might be formal bladder pressure studies- urodynamics It sounds like you have tried most combinations and therefore before any intervention like TURP etc...

Re: overactive bladder

Vivka sounds like stress incontinence due to muscle weakness. start with pelvic floor physio and weight loss then if no joy after 1 year post child birth it is worth considering referral to a uro-gynaecologist or urologist specialising in female incontinence as you may be a candidate for a sling/TVT...

Re: is it normal to pee this much?

I agree with the other but if no infection and it persists and bothers you then a urology referral for an ultrasound and other tests might prove useful.
You may have an overactive bladder

Re: Bladder pressure

It could be a low level infection that wasnt picked up on a standard urine test.
Rarely a stone passing or other irritant cause these symptoms
Drink plenty, redo a urine sample if persists and ask for a urology referral for further tests if no joy

Re: overactive bladder

If you have a proven overactive bladder then BOTOX has an excellent chance of working for you.
It can decrease frequency, urgency, urge incontinence and nocturia.
It can be given under local or general anaesthetic.
Works well in around 80% of people with proven overactive bladder.

Re: obveractive bowel & Bladder

You should definitely see your GP asap on this.
Could be a number of causes some of which are urgent to diagnose.
Please go in an get the process started as you will need a referral into a hospital probably.

Re: Urodynamics test

I agree with Ann
It shouldnt cause any long term problems with the water pipe/urethra.
You should be fully awake before starting the urodynamics after the anaesthetic.
You might have an urethral stricture or other abnormality which might explain the symptoms as well.

Re: Intermittent self catheterisation

I agree with above
It has been 11 years so time for a review
you needs an ultrasound and flexible cystoscopy to re assess things
Might be a bladder stone, renal stone, etc that is causing your new UTIs

Re: can overactive bladder be treated without medication?

It should be fine to try the solifenacin for 6 weeks If no better you need some urodynamic studies to prove what is exactly going on. Getting up at night means it is less likely to be psychological so you can be reassured by that Bladder training is pretty hard Solifenacin can make you constipated M...
