Re: Seen my doctor
Given the number of joints involved, I would ask for a referral to a rheumatologist for a review in the first instance. A good exercise programme of specific, targeted exercises would be able to help with your discomfort. Research shows that exercising is pain relieving and can be helpful in maintai...

I would recommend discussing your symptoms with your GP and asking him/her to refer you to a rheumatologist for a review.

Re: Pain in side after having ovary removed
Hello, Kelly
This is a question for your GP. If you haven't already consulted him/her, I would recommend making an appointment and discussing it with your GP.

Re: Arthritis from an old pelvis fracture
Have you tried physiotherapy? If not, perhaps consult your GP and ask for a referral. Your physiotherapist should be able to help with targeted exercises, manual therapy (if indicated) and other pain relieving modalities, including modifications to activities/ergonomics and pacing advice.

Re: Forearm pain
I agree with Dr Holden's advice. It doesn't sound like an arthritic condition as it isn't your joint. I would consult your GP and, if he/she thinks it's appropriate, ask for a referral to physiotherapy for an assessment to determine the cause of the pain. Your physiotherapist can then help with appr...

Re: Hip pain
I agree with my colleagues. Research shows that exercise, particularly the types exercise you mention, will be beneficial especially as you prepare for a second total hip replacement. The Tai Chi is very good for balance and hip/pelvic strength and stability which will help you rehabilitate afterwar...

Re: Back and leg pain following RTC
It might be useful to ask your GP to refer you to a physiotherapist who is experienced treating RTA patients. You haven't mentioned specific exercises and a good physiotherapist should be able to help you with exercises that will help with pain.

It's also worth chatting to your GP to find out whether there is a Hands Therapy unit local to you. The hands therapists, often occupational therapists specialising in hands, will be able to show you exercises, help you find suitable assistive devices and also advise on pain relief/supportive therap...

Re: Ongoing pain from sciatica
I would strongly advise discussing with your GP. Physiotherapy may be able to help you with pain management techniques, special neural slider/glider exercises to help ease the sciatic nerve pain, lifestyle and ergonomic advice, manual therapy can be really helpful to settle the pain (soft tissue rel...
