Re: Leaking

Hi Lara
Great advice from Mr Challacombe, I’d add that if these measures don’t work visit your GP for advice. You can effectively treat urinary leakage, so be sure to seek help if it continues.
All the best.

Re: Bladder emptying

Hi Charlie. A little more info would help tailor advice for you. Your sex, age and how long you’ve been suffering would be useful. Can you repost with this? Thanks so much.

Hi Adele. Sorry to hear you’re suffering with this. Urinary incontonence is miserable, but can be treated effectively. Mr Malde has given you some great advice about seeing your GP and getting your urine checked for any abnormalities. If your urine is free from infection then you need further assess...

Re: UTI symptoms

Also Rebecca, if it isn’t infections, but symptoms similar to an infection, the urology team you see will be able to tell you what to do if this is the case.

Re: UTI symptoms

Hi Rebecca. Poor you, that’s miserable. It sounds like you’re almost having one uti a month. Has your GP been able to identify the bacteria that’s causing your infections? This is normally found out when they send your urine for analysis in the laboratory. You really should see a specialist, a urolo...

Re: Recurrent UTI

Hi Philip25 Exactly as Mr Malde said id be concerned why, after such a long period of catheterising smoothly without incident you've suddenly become more prone to infection. I'm assuming your technique or catheter choice hasn't changed? I guess you've looked at this already. A trip to your Urologist...

Re: Bladder problem

Hi there. As Dr Mansfield states, it's great you've managed to find a solution to your bladder issues. You have highlighted an important point about hydration v's dehydration. A balance to maintain straw coloured urine is the goal. As a general rule we, as adults should consume around 2L per day of ...

Re: 14 year old

Hi Sam It's really good that your daughters plucked up the courage to tell you, it is obviously something a teenager would find troublesome. Now you're in a great position to give her some advice that could really help her. Mr Malde outlines the main points really clearly so if you start with them y...

Re: Blocked Catheters

Hi Janeharris Great advice thusfar. Just wanted to check, as this is a new thing for you and you've been managing so long without incident; there's nothing obvious like an increase in milk/dairy products in your diet that may increase your mucus and account for more blockages? Obvious I know but per...
