Re: Chances of having twins

Hello, twins can happen in one of two ways. Firstly, the woman can release more than one egg at a time and if both eggs are fertilised that month then those fertilised eggs can go on to become babies (non-identical) at the same time. The other way is that a single fertilised egg splits in half and e...

Re: Orgasm and arousal

Hi there, everyone is different in their 'recovery' time so there isn't really an actual answer to your question. It sounds a bit frustrating for you - have you talked to your partner about this? Is there a way that he could delay his orgasm until you are also ready to finish? If he has finished, ar...

Re: Thrush and BV

Hi, the most important thing is to make sure it actually is thrush and BV. The next time you have symptoms, make sure you have a swab before having any treatment so we get an accurate diagnosis. If it is thrush and BV, then lots of things can bring it on eg stress, hormones, underlying diabetes etc ...

Re: The taste of sperm

Hello and thank you for your query. All bodily fluids can be affected by a person's diet, hygiene, stress and also infection. It would be worth noting if foods such as spicy foods made things different at all. I am also a firm advocate of making sure there are no hidden infections whenever something...

Re: HIV and travelling

Hi, HIV can only be passed through injections of bodily fluids. So the best advice is to be very careful of any sexual contact - whether it is vaginal, oral or anal contact. I would suggest using barrier protection for any sexual contact. You can obviously get male condoms to protect the penis, but ...

Re: Asexual, or Premature Ejaculation? or both?

Hi there, I can hear the frustration you must be feeling and I'm sorry that you are facing these problems. It is a very difficult sitaution as your husband doesn't seem to want to address these problems, and without him wanting any help it is very diffciutl to help. There are organisations such as '...

Re: Missed period & pregnancy

Hi there, modern pregnany tests are very accurate and should show up positive by three weeks after the day you conceived. Usually by the time you have missed a period a test done on the first urine sample of the morning (so it is more concentrated from being held overnight in your bladder) would sho...

Re: wanting sex less frequently

Hello, thank you for your enquiry, it is something I am asked a lot. Would you mind telling me how old your partner is and whether he or she has any other health problems? How is your relationship? Have you managed to discuss this at all with each other? I look forward to hearing from you, Dr Webber...

Re: link between use of pill and fertility

Hi again, although there can sometimes be a delay in fertility returning after using hormonal contraception, there is no concern re longer term infertility. The pill can suppress and treat polycystic ovaries, which can then get bad again on stopping the pill. PCOS is very good at interfering with fe...
