Re: Struggling at night with temperature

Thanks for your question. Temperature fluctuations at night are normal and are part of regulating your sleep/wake cycle. Your core body temperature does drop in an evening ready for sleep and rises again in the morning preparing you to wake up. However some people are particularly sensitive to tempe...

Re: The time to sleep

Hi Thanks for your message. What you don't say is how long you generally sleep for, what time you need to be up in the morning and what else you're doing through the day... If 7pm is your weak point, could you try to do something else at this time? A walk, an exercise class, go see a friend? Somethi...

Rather than white noise, you could try pink noise which is slightly softer or maybe use some soothing sounds like rainfall? It may be worth exploring different ear plug options too. Other than that, i...

Re: How can I get more deep sleep?

Thanks for your message. Firstly, I'd like to point out that your Fitbit does not accurately track your sleep. Sleep trackers aren’t necessarily bad. They can be a useful tool for looking at your general sleep patterns and can be an incentive to improve sleep habits. However it’s important to rememb...

Re: Trouble sleeping

Thanks for your message. Having a partner who snores can be extremely annoying especially when it impacts on your sleep. Smoking can cause snoring as it irritates the membranes in the nose and throat which can block the airways. Alcohol can also cause snoring. Loud snoring can be the first sign of t...

Re: Insomnia

Hi John I am really to hear about your struggles with sleep. Mental health issues and sleep deprivation go hand in hand and should be treated alongside each other. From what you are saying you really need to speak to a specialist - have you seen your GP about your sleep issues? I presume you are und...
