Hard to exercise
I find it hard to exercise with the pain from my hidradenitis suppurativa, for example, rubbing from the sores on my thighs. Do you have any tips on how to keep weight off?
Thank you, Anne

Is HS hereditary?
I have hidradentitis suppurativa and I’m worried whether my children are likely to inherit it? If yes, Is there anything I can do to try and minimise the risk for them?

Bowel Problems
My husband has had bowel problems all his life. He was diagnosed as having a floppy bowel. This of course has caused him problems emptying his bowel. A couple of years ago, we went to the GP as he had a rather large stomach and I thought he was badly constipated. The GP examined him and told us tha...

Medication Causing Pain and Constipation
I am taking prescribed medication for chronic pain. Obviously it doesn't do my system any favours and I hope to reduce my meds in the future. I find that the codeine in particular constipates me so much that I get pain in the lower right side of my abdomen. It also causes me to strain and push whic...

Bowel Rupture
My bowel ruptured 4 October 2016 and the surgeon's didn't know if they could save my life. I have a huge colostomy bag and double hernia and I've never got over it. I have recurring nightmares every night and haven't left the house since. I'm only 42, I'm a hermit now and literally live in my bedro...

Bowel Incontinence
I was hospitalised for over a year following a brain surgery. In that time, I became incontinent of both urine and faeces and became dependent on pads. Now I'm aware of when I need to use the toilet but I've been assessed as having urge urine incontinence by the incontinence nurse. I was too embarr...

Problems with fecal / flatulence incontinence
I have had a problem with fecal….but mainly flatuence incontinence since a forceps delivery in 1994. The inner sphincter muscle I believe does not join up in a complete circle. It has ruined my life. I am overweight with severe arthritis now. I avoid walking in case people hear me pass wind. When I...
