Re: acne
Hello, I agree with the very helpful advice given by Mayra above. I help edit the British Association of Dermatologists patient information leaflets. I wasn't involved with the acne one but you may find it helpful. https://www.bad.org.uk/shared/get-file.ashx?id=65&itemtype=document BW, Sree

Re: I've to make a decision
Hello there,
Thanks for your message!
I would have a thorough read about the company, impartial review sites and write down any questions that stem from this. If you feel uncomfortable about any of it, I would steer clear.

Sree

Hello there!
Thanks for your message and very helpful history. A photo tells a thousand words in this setting. Would you be able to attach a smaller file?

Hi Becca,
Over the counter treatments definitely have their place but if it is resistant to that, you most likely need help from a doctor. Can you let us know if you've spoken with your GP?

Re: Can’t figure out what’s wrong with my skin.
Hi there, Thanks for sending the image along - as they say, a picture says a thousand words. It looks like nodulocystic acne and I can also see evidence of pitted scarring. Have you seen your GP for conventional acne treatment? If they're not sure, they should refer you to a specialist given the sca...

Re: What kind of acne is this?
Hi there! Have you seen your GP - they have lots of effective treatments (topicals, antibiotics, pill)? If those don't help or you're developing scarring, they will refer on to someone like me at the hospital. I'm a consultant dermatologist in South London but our waiting times are horrendous at the...

Re: telemedicine?
Hi all, I'm glad I've happened on this! I'm a consultant dermatologist in London and our wait times for an adult appointment are near enough 5 months! We do video consultations for acne (including isotretinoin) and it's been pretty straightforward. The only issue is to do with pregnancy monitoring o...

Re: IGe levels
Hi Claire, Specific IgE testing is something of a dark art - when I request them in clinic, I always request a total IgE alongside the specific results. The reason for this is that if you have a very high total IgE, this tends to skew the specific IgE numbers upwards - making them less specific (but...
