Overactive bladder symptoms in children can be idiopathic (unknown cause) or sometimes related to an underlying (nerve) condition. It is important in persistent cases that underlying spinal causes are ruled out and you should talk to your specialist about this For most patients with idiopathic overa...

Re: Mesh adverse side effects

I am sure that you are aware that problems associated with mesh have become a very complicated, and politicized and legalised issue. Some of your specific symptoms incontinence, bowel issues may be related, but it is as yet unproven that mesh can cause systemic (distant) problems I think you need to...

Re: Nighttime toilet trips

This would need a little more assessment The starting point would be a frequency volume chart over 3 days to assess how much urine you pass at night versus during the day Your GP should also assess all your medications as many can contribute to fluid accumulation and maybe better used earlier in day...

Re: Symptoms following prolapse repair

This needs to be further assessed
You should have a urine culture and ultrasound with flow and residual volume.
If these are mot within normal ranges you should be referred back to your local urogynaecologists for further assessment

Re: Needing to wee more frequently

Sounds like you have a mild degree of overactive bladder
You should get your GP to do some routine test (urine culture and ultrasound) and give you some advice on fluid management, caffeine and alcohol reduction

Re: Bladder cancer symptoms

Bladder (and much more rare ureteric) cancer is commonly asymptomatic in its early stages
The most common sign of a problem is blood in the urine (haematuria), although the majority of patients with haematuria still have a normal assessment
Your GP can check your urine with a simple dipstick test

Re: Prolapse bladder

Isabella

Ideally you should have urodynamic study to assess your bladder function and the cause of leakage, and imaging to assess your prolapse

Intervention (surgery) would then be tailored to deal with both issues together

Re: Spc

It is possible to scuba dive with a catheter

However, it is important that you are assessed (including bladder pressures) by a specialist reconstructive urology team first
