I have a complex bladder problem, I have urine retention , meaning that I can get a volume of 600ml when I self catheterise. I also have a leakage problem, and following ambulatory urodynamics, it has been suggested I have Botox injections and a suprapubic catheter. I am wondering if there is a poss...

Catheters

I have been using Coloplast size 10 catheters for 3 years now, but I find that after using the catheter, my urethra feels very sore. I do get a few urine infections throughout the year, and wonder if the problem with the catheter is causing these infections. I did get sepsis last year with a Irvine ...

Polyps and diverticula disease

I was picked up on the bowel screening programme 2 years ago, and they found 3 large tubular adenoma polyps that we’re removed and the areas were tattooed. They told me that I have now been put on a surveillance programme but I understand that this stops at 74. I am concerned as I have a family hist...

Bruising on skin

Since I have got older, I have noticed that my skin bruises very easily. The arms and legs appear the most affected. The bruises are quite large and I cannot give a reason why they have bruised, I havent knocked against anything. I am wondering, could this be a sign of anything more serious?

Ovary

I had a hysterectomy 30 years ago, the ovaries were left in. Last year I had a prolapse repair done and then in December an autogous fascia sling. Since August last year I have been having left sided pain, sometimes quite severe, that comes in waves. I had a pelvic ultra sound done in November which...

Re: I have to go for bladder and kidney scans. What to expec

Hi! There,
Please don’t worry about these scans. It is similar to having a scan when you have a baby. They put gel on the area and go over it. No pain, you will feel nothing. They usually tell you there and then if anything is found.

Cysts in kidney

Can cysts in the kidney cause blood in the urine. I have to self catheterise, and always have blood in the urine whenever it is tested. I have been told there are cysts in my left kidney, but nothing has been done about them.
