Re: Lack of pelvic floor contry

As Mr Harding says, pelvic floor muscle training with a physiotherapist may make a big difference for you initially instead of medications. I would recommend asking for a referral to your local Continence care services to discuss this further.

Re: Incontinence

I think advice from a Continence specialist would be helpful, as Mr Harding suggests. Simple things such as reducing caffeine intake may help in the meantime, as well as pelvic floor exercises. Good luck.

Re: Bladder Removal

Sorry to hear you are having such difficulties with your bladder. I agree with Chris that trying some options to treat possible chronic UTI would be a good idea to discuss with your Urologist in the first instance, before considering the last-resort option of bladder removal surgery.

Re: Catheters

Thank you for your message. Some post-menopausal women also find that using a vaginal oestrogen cream can help reduce the risk of infections and improve some of the soreness from catheterisation. If this is relevant to you it may be worth discussing with your GP.

Re: Constipation and day time wetting issues 3yr old

Thank you for your message, it sounds as though you're having a very tough time but you're doing all the right things. Although it doesn't seem like it at present, things will get better with time. There is definitely a link with the bladder and bowel and so managing her constipation as you are is i...

Re: Do we just sit and wait?

Thank you for your message and i'm sorry you've had such a difficult time. It sounds as though you've tried a lot of different things and seen a number of people. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for these symptoms in childhood and I can understand how distressing this time must be for you. I wou...

Dear Meghan, sorry to hear you have suffered for so long. Re: Mesh bladder repairs

Thank you for your message. Indeed there has been a lot of news coverage regarding the potential risk of mesh-related complications, and it is important that you have a full discussion about all these issues with your surgeon before proceeding. Depending on the type of incontinence you have, there a...
