Re: Rosacea on nose-mainly
Dear Shell Many thanks for your post. Sorry to hear about your kin complaint. I would agree that based on the description the diagnosis is that of papulo-pustular and telangiectatic rosacea. You may benefit from a prolonged course of oral antibiotics and pulsed dye laser treatment. For resistant cas...

Re: Skin very dry from radiotherapy
Dear Linda Sorry to hear about your husband's ongoing symptoms. Without seeing him in person or the photos of his skin rash; it is impossible to be certain however, if he has scaly spots on nose and lower eyelid, I would be considering a diagnosis of Actinic keratosis. This is nothing alarming, just...

Re: Treating scarring from old spots
Hello As suggested, it's important to classify the type of scars correctly and location of scars before considering treatment options. Lasers, surgical scar removal and subcision etc. all may help the right kind of scars. Scars on face do better than those on the body. Best wishes Dr. Vishal Madan M...

Re: CO2 Fractional Laser Trigger rash cum Acne
hello, thanks for the question. Fractional CO2 laser or non ablative laser treatments can trigger acne in acne prone skin. Equally the skin care regime post laser can trigger acne. Eczema would be itchy. As mentioned previously, an assessment is essential, although it is not uncommon for conditions ...

Re: Mid 50's problem skin
Hello Late onset acne can be troublesome and tends to be persistent and non responsive to simple OTC medications. I would recommend, depending upon the severity of acne/ location and type of acne lesions- either medicated topical products or oral medications such as isotretinoin. Best to get referre...

Re: Please help. Worried to pieces
Hello Mike
Don't worry, just looking at the pics, this looks fine, perhaps a traumatised skin tag However, if you have private health care, best to get this reviewed by the dermatologist next week.
Overall, just looking at the pics, I wouldn't be too worried.
Best wishes
Vishal

Re: BSF skin cancer/moles question
Very good question, thanks for asking. the issue remains contentious but the body of evidence is still very much in favour of sunscreen use for skin cancer prevention. Study by Green et al, (Green A, Williams G, Neale R, et al. Daily sunscreen application and betacarotene supplementation in preventi...

Re: 2 summer again strange freckles
Thanks for your question. Even a single sun burn episode increases the risk of skin cancer formation. I would recommend that you get your skin checked by your GP/Dermatologist for reassurance sake. You mention allergy to suncreams. Have you had patch testing or photo patch testing? It would be wise ...

Re: Basal Cell Carcinoma
Hello Thank you for posting the question. The answer to your question is both, the history of sun bed use/ sun exposure and post transplant immunosuppression are contributory to skin cancers. For Basal Cell Carcinomas, the role of sun burn during childhood is more relevant than overall sun exposure....
