Mr Karim was nominated by his peers as one of the top robotic surgeons for prostate cancer in 2010 and has been a consultant urological surgeon in the Thames Valley area for 17 years. He specialises in diseases of the prostate and kidney with a particular expertise in nerve sparing robotic surgery for the prostate and partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer.

Mr Karim has a special interest in intraoperative robotic ultrasound imaging of kidney tumours and is recognized by the industry as a World expert in the technology. He is also trainer in robotic surgery and has taught surgeons in London, Guildford, Bristol and Dublin. He has been an examiner for in-service examination for urology trainees.
