Public Health Development Advisor-Alcohol, Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust

Liz qualified as a mental health nurse in 1998 and has worked in acute mental health and alcohol treatment services in Brighton, Manchester and Dublin. While working for Manchester Community Alcohol Team, Liz developed a number of pilot projects to introduce pathways into treatment from police custody, court and prison. She joined Manchester’s Health & Wellbeing Service in 2005 in her current role which involves promoting responsible alcohol retailing, developing social marketing campaigns and training frontline staff in alcohol identification and brief advice. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.
