Joanne Hoyle

Adult Specialist Nurse, Bladder & Bowel UK

Joanne is an Adult Specialist Nurse who works with the national charity Bladder and Bowel UK.

Joanne has worked within the speciality of continence since 1999 and has managed and developed three continence services in the North of England namely Tameside and Glossop, Kirklees, and Calderdale. Joanne has a passion for promotion of continence to patients, the general public and health care professionals raising the profile of the speciality and ensuring individuals have the best outcome possible whilst receiving the very best clinical care.

Joanne has a real interest in all areas of continence care with a special interest in stress incontinence and pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation. She is used to caring for individuals who experience bladder and bowel problems and supporting them from a physical and psychological perspective as continence problems can have a real impact on quality of life.

Whilst Joanne has 21 years expereince within the NHS she has also worked at a National level for a healthcare company as a Clinical Resource Manager promoting excellence in education and building substantial effective relationships between the NHS and industry for the benefit of patient care.

Joanne is currently working with Bladder and Bowel UK in a role that involves promoting the patient perspective through product information, education, involvement in national groups such as NICE and supporting indivduals through the confidential helpline.

Joanne is active within the continence speciality network and is a member of the ACA (Association for Continence Advice), UKCS (United Kingdom Continence Society) and the ICS (International Continence Society. In recent weeks Joanne has joined the Yorkshire ACA committee as Vice Chair to promote continence, continence services and continue to raise the profile of this vital speciality.
