Consultant Gastroenterologist - MA MBBS FRCP

My name is Neil Galletly and I am a specialist in Gastroenterology. I studied Medicine at Cambridge University and at Guy’s Hospital in London. I trained in gastroenterology and general medicine in London and spent 3 years in clinical and academic research at Imperial College London. During my training I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work for a year as one of only two gastroenterology consultants covering the 700+ islands of the Bahamas.

I am a Consultant in Gastroenterology, currently working at both Kingston Hospital and St George’s Hospital in South West London. My roles have included Clinical Director for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, Clinical Lead for Endoscopy and Clinical Lead for Upper GI Cancer. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of leading UK and international Gastroenterology and Endoscopy organisations including the British Society for Gastroenterology, the Royal Society of Medicine, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy

I work at some of the top private hospitals and clinics in SW London and Surrey including St Anthony’s Hospital, the New Victoria Hospital, the Runnymede Hospital and Syon Clinic. I have over 20 years’ experience of investigating and treating bowel problems and IBS. My other areas of interest include diagnostic endoscopy (gastroscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP); liver disease, abnormal liver function tests and jaundice; gastrointestinal cancer (including stomach cancer, bowel cancer, pancreatic cancer and oesophageal cancer); unexplained weight loss or anaemia; indigestion and swallowing difficulties.
